There are three core functions performed by the device, all of which are related to the Rf spectrum. The first function is to scan the 2.4GHz-5.8GHz channels for data packets emitted by drones. These packets differentiate between DJI drones and all other manufacturer’s. We obtain the packets and convert the data into a format that enables the plotting of live data on our map-based user interface. Different user levels can access different versions of the data. The second function is to perform the same frequency scanning but on channels known to be used by FPV drones, these could be considered as non-compliant, we use various factors like GPS and RSSI to plot the drone co-ordinates and their flight path. Finally, we use passive radar to identify class 1-3 drones by their radar cross section, this helps us to plot the positions of “dark drones”.

Installation has been purposely built so all you need to do is connect the device to your internet router and power on. If you want to switch to WiFi you can do by connecting the device to a screen via HDMI cable. All scripts will run automatically on boot. You then simply need to open our DDaaS companion app on a device connected to the same network as the DDaaS Device and follow the prompts. It takes around 5 minutes.

Outdoor mounting is not a prerequisite for hosting a device however the nature of signals in the 2.4-5.8GHz bands mean that outdoor mounting will deliver far greater coverage and subsequently higher rewards. The ideal location would be above a roof-line with no obvious obstructions in the immediate vicinity.

Our devices include a GPS unit with a private MAC ID, in addition we can validate the location of a device by it’s proximity to drones as indicated by the data they emit from their packets. We run gaming algorithms on the raw JSON data acquired by the DDaaS Device’s and are able to rapidly identify nefarious intent.

If you receive a free option you will not own the device and we reserve the right to recall the device if it is registering as not connected (there is an alerting system within our companion app that allows for push notifications regarding device status to your phone or laptop). All of our customer’s check-out their subscriptions via Stripe. We are able to then use Stripe API’s to show various network revenue metrics within the DDaaS Companion App. In addition, Stripe in conjunction with Bridge will automatically convert 20% of sales to USDC to be held in the rewards treasury wallet which will be visible on-chain.
