Our takeover systems offer a hard stop methodology without the risk of ground based collateral issues. Roark offer two main products for takeover CUAS:
In Air EM
The “In Air EM” system enables ground based operators to deploy one of our custom based UA’s either via their own control or remotely via our DFR programme’s.
Once the Roark UA is within range of the target UAS it begins to read and measure the electromagnetic radiation emitted from the device. This in conjunction with the output from the Aero-Ark enables determination of the device manufacturer. The electromagnetic radiation output of the device is then processed using SEMA to obtain the encryption keys and either take control of the device remotely from the user terminal or to deliver an automated safe-landing. This EM encryption attack in mist cases also reveals high level details of the UA which can be highly valuable to law enforcement and military operators.
On the Ground
The “On the Ground” system is essentially the same process as the “In Air”. The difference being that the electromagnetic radiation is measured from a ground based device such as the Aero-Ark add-on unit. This limits the operational range and reaction time of the take-down process but is sufficient for protecting specific air space where ground units are deployed.
