Pontus from Roark is an AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vessel) that combines endurance and payload capabilities to deliver a true market leader in the submersible vehicle sector.
Pontus is powered by our patented hydrogen combustion outboard engine
Pontus is 3.5M in length, 0.8M in diameter, has a dry weight of 2,120Kg, speed range of up to 10 Knots, max depth of 6000M, operational range of 10 days and survey range of 550 Line KM.
Pontus carries a payload of 4 x Roark Guided Missile Units which can be deployed autonomously using our Plexus AI Intelligential System or through manual remote operator mode. This ordnance can be used for sub-sea deployment as well as targeting land-based targets from the sea.
Pontus carries solar cells on it’s surface enabling recharging of battery systems through surface/shallow surface exposure.
Pontus is unique in that it carries on board edge intelligence processing along with connectivity via deployable/retractable spool based Starlink terminal & fibre optic cable.
Pontus uses a navigation system featureing a proven Kalman filtered Inertial Navigation Unit supported by Doppler Velocity Logs and depth sensors offering superior directional accuracy.
Pontus is an ideal solution for littoral and deep-water survey/inspection as well as providing crucial defense assets in ISR and ordnance based strikes.
Pontus can be launched in shallow water, from a pier or via sea-tow and is able to navigate back to pre-defined waypoints for collection/re-arming.
